The HELICOMMAND  HC3-Xtreme is a professional electronic module for RIGID rotor heads, acting as a replacement
for the mechanical auxiliary paddle system.

Model helicopters without auxiliary paddles are generally lighter, with about 15% greater performance, and
are substantially more agile and manoeuvrable. When combined with the HC3-Xtreme the result is tremendous
performance, not to mention the elimination of the set-up procedure for the vulnerable flybar mechanical
system. The outstanding feature of rigid rotor heads is unbeatable precision throughout the flight envelope,
i.e. for extreme dynamic manoeuvres (F3N flying style) and aerobatics (F3C), as well as stability in the hover.
The helicopter remains “on track” through all manoeuvres, i.e. there is a complete absence of disturbing influences,
and “stays put” in any flight attitude. All this is achieved with minimum set-up effort thanks to the
intelligent and carefully optimised algorithms which regulate rotor head behaviour.
The adoption of the latest generation of high-quality silicon MEMS sensors makes the HC3-Xtreme fully 3Dcapable,
and the unit even contains a very high-quality ultra-fast tail gyro - so no external gyro is required!
The system also implements a symmetrical torque control system which provides a further increase in holding
power at the tail; this is made possible by coupling the tail gyro internally with the collective pitch data
of the rotor head control system. Of course, the system is also suitable for flybarless scale helicopters (twoblade
and multi-blade heads) as well as for other types of flybarless machine such as pod-and-boom types,
etc. The HC3-Xtreme is suitable for use in helicopters with any form of power system: electric motor, glow
motor or turbine. The HC3-Xtreme expressly contains no horizontal or position stabilisation, which means that
it can be used in any form of competition. The rotor head gyro eliminates all the unwanted characteristics of
the rigid rotor head, leaving only the advantages of optimum control response and precision. The HC3-Xtreme
supports all current analogue, digital and brushless servos, including narrow-pulse types (760 μs) for the tail
rotor (e.g. robbe-Futaba S 9256 or BLS 251 servos).
All current swashplate control systems, including four swashplate servos and virtual swashplate rotation, are supported: H1, H3-90°, H3-120°, H3-140°, H4-90°, H4-
90°+45°. With its CNC-machined aluminium case and sophisticated design the HC3-Xtreme effortlessly matches
the high quality standards of today’s major helicopter manufacturers. Since the unit offers ultra-compact
construction and flexible installation options, it can be used in almost any helicopter - from the micro-heli right
up to the 3.5 m large-scale machine.

- The set-up procedure is reduced to a minimum, not least due to the clear
separation of gain settings for rotor head gyro and tail gyro, which use
independent auxiliary channels.
- Direct USB connection for fast programming; convenient set-up software is
included in the set.
- The connecting leads between receiver and HC3-Xtreme feature plug-in connectors at both ends.
- Gold-plated circuit board and the latest generation of MEMS sensors on all three axes.
- The HC3-Xtreme is prepared for connection to receiver systems with serial pulse (SP) output, such as the
robbe R6007SP and R6107SP RASST receivers; this reduces the receiver connections required to a single
lead. In this case the motor / throttle servo output is available on the HC3-Xtreme itself.
- A software patch for connecting the unit to the Futaba S-BUS system and other satellite receivers is in preparation.
- The HC3-Xtreme features flash memory, allowing it to be updated to the latest software version in our Service
Department. This means that the system is open, i.e. at any time it can be fine-tuned to cater for new
developments in software and helicopter mechanics.
