Model of the Dash 8, a twin-engined passenger machine of Arcel foam construction. To meet the demand for a quiet, short-range passenger aircraft offering 30 to 40 seats, De Havilland commenced work on the design and development of the DHC-8 Dash 8 in 1980. Amongst the type´s main characteristics are a twin-wheel tricycle undercarriage, a large-span T-tail, high-wing configuration and two turbo-prop engines. The robbe Dash 8 combines these typical features with docile flight handling. The steerable nosewheel is actuated by a separate servo, and provides good ground handling just like the full-size aeroplane.
